Hello! My name is Michelle and I am so glad you are here! After studying painting in college, I knew creating was a part of who God made me to be. Fast-forward a few years and I found myself married to my childhood sweetheart, Caleb, and a busy young mom of four amazing kiddos. While I treasured the joy of raising young children, I found that my space for creating was much more limited - or looked more like designing mud pies instead of painting canvases! However, even in those busy days, God would still meet me in the spaces of quiet creativity - whether that was in the garden, in my sketchbook, at the piano, cooking, or even coloring with my toddlers. As my sweet kids began to grow, I knew that the Lord was inviting me to take what I had learned about restful creativity and use it to reach out to women around me. And so Potter & Painter was born!

In Isaiah 64:8 it says, “O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.” Our Heavenly Father is always molding us and teaching us. His lessons shout to us in Scripture and sing to us in His created world. In every Potter & Painter class, I invite you to become the “Painter” as we explore lessons from the Potter. Each lesson will center around a truth from Scripture, and as we paint together, I pray that you have the chance to slow down from the busy pace of the world and meditate in the space of creating.

If you are new to the world of painting - don’t worry! All of the projects are designed to be low-stress and easy to follow. I will provide you with a lightly printed outline of the drawing that we will be painting, and a step-by-step instructional.
